THREE MOBILE TEAMS OF THE PROJECT ON PROGRAM "EXCHANGE 3

Project of the City Municipality of Palilula, "Strengthening of municipal capacity to improve quality of life for socially vulnerable groups", which is successfully achieved under the program "Exchange 3", early last week got a third mobile team. Socially vulnerable residents of Palilula now can get the necessary information on the use of free services of the project teams, on the info phone 018/244-587 in its Citizens` Offices, or directly contact with the mobile team (1) on the phone 062-407-751, mobile team (2) on the phone 062-407-735 or mobile crew team (3) at 062-407-754. This week, a multidisciplinary mobile teams of the City Municipality of Palilula in full force, will assist the vulnerable elderly and disabled persons and people of third age who are immobile and dependent on assistance at the following locations: Wednesday 29 June, the Citizens` offices " Crvena Zvezda ", Berbatovo and Vukmanovo on Thursday, June 30 Citizens` offices in Gornje Medjurovo, Bubanj Selo and Bubanj and on Friday July 1, mobile teams of the project will be the newly furnished Retirees Home in Gabrovac and in the Citizens` office in Palilula, between 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. hours. Services include medical care of vulnerable categories of population, measure of blood pressure and blood sugar, providing medical consulting services, psycho-social assistance and support, legal assistance.

Management of Palilula Municipality, looking at current implementation of the project, which is realized in cooperation with a partner on the project, the Center for Social Work "Sveti Sava" in Nis and the Bulgarian municipality of Kyustendil, points out that with this activity significantly improved quality of life for socially vulnerable groups in the City Municipality of Palilula. The project is funded by the European Union, through the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia, within EXCHANGE 3 and lasts for one year. Based on data from the Statistical Yearbook of the City of Nis on the territory of Palilula Municipality live 73,610 inhabitants, of that number only 12,612 are employed. It was registered 1125 socially-vulnerable persons with disabilities. These are people who can not take care of themselves, people who are immobile, the ill and dependent on assistance. From 5061 older people (over 70) 487 is from the surrounding villages of Palilula Municipality. These are the working inactive and slightly movable persons who can not afford to provide basic means of livelihood. Because this project has caused great public interests.
